Mother's Day

It's such a lovely, sunshiny day today. It's a good day for Mother's Day celebrations.

I usually spend every MD with my mom but this year we didn't get together. I stopped by with the boys to bring her a couple pots of plants yesterday. She had a beautiful hanging basket there for me as well.

My grandmother, her mom, is in the hospital and it's been a long week for both of us and it jt seemed like a good day to not make plans. I'm caulking the bathroom today and she's relaxing at home - I hope.

Steve made my favorite breakfast of destroyers for me today. So, so good. He even did the dishes and scrubbed the stove. He bought me my ticket to Relevant, when early-bird tickets went on sale and sold out in 1 minute! He also bought a game I've been wanting for the boys to give me. The boys all made cards. They are so cute and Nick's really made me laugh.

Gabey is learning to write his name so well. He even drew me a little heart puzzle (under the big red star). I love it.

Matthew made me this cute orange heart.

Christian loves me because I help him with scool, but apparently haven't taught him how to spell school. :) He loves me because I feed him and let him watch tv. Kids are really so simple.

Nicolas wrote me a letter, he even wrote in cursive - it looks like he tried so hard to write neatly. It is a treasure.

Happy Mothers Day!!!

Hi It's Nick your most loved son in the big world. Just need to say I love you so much. What would I do without you. You make the food, clean the house, help me with school work (apparently I did teach him to spell school), and do the dishies. Wait, no I do the dishies but if you want to just ask.

I need to say that from my heart I love you so much. I would never want a different mom. you are the best of the best. You are doing a GREAT job. Have a nice mothers day.

Love, Nick

I will forever call the dishes "dishies" from now on. And, I think I won't ask to do them anytime soon because I really don't like doing the dishies. :)

We missed church this morning which was kind of a bummer. Nick was really disappointed but I don't think the other boys realized it was a Sunday morning so they didn't complain. Steve had to work today so spending the morning together was really a nice way to start the day. It's nice being a part of such a great church community again. After the total train-wreck that was our home church experience, it's nice to be plugged into a community that is actively seeking to live out the great commission. I'm sorry we missed services today but it's been a nice Mother's Day.

I'm busy this afternoon trying to cut out and re-caulk the shower area and hopefully I'll get a little touch up painting done before the day is done. Tomorrow we have plans to finish the bathroom and take in a fun family activity. If we get both done I'll have completed bathroom pictures on Tuesday.

Happy Mother's Day to all of my Mommy friends. I know many of my friends find themselves lost in grieving today, for mothers in heaven, babies unborn, children gone to soon, mothers who just don't care to mother and other special circumstances. I'm so sorry for your hurting. I hope you know that your Father in Heaven is well acquainted with your grief, He experiences it with you and He is near, even when it doesn't feel like it. I am praying for special peace and comfort for each of you. I have counted each of you, by name, in my prayers today.
