The Little Blue House

Welcome to our nest!

A few friends have asked to see pictures of our little blue house and tonight I remembered to snap a shot from the sidewalk. I'll make an effort to share the rest of the house with you soon. Our house is a 1 and a 1/2 story, 3 bedroom, 1 bath house. We plan to add an additional full bathroom in the basement in a year or two.

We have always called it TLBH, and at one point we had a blog named "In the little blue house". I merged my blogs and lost the name. I might go back to it though because this blog isn't just my personal blog anymore and we did decide to stay in TLBH. It is something to think on, I think.

Well, the bathroom remodel is moving right along. I'm going to try to share pictures tomorrow of the bathroom almost finished. I'm really excited about it.

This summer is going to be an exciting one for the little blue house. She is getting a facelift with fresh paint. She hasn't seen a paintbrush in 12 years! Poor thing. We are looking at paint colors - blue, of course!

The meter box on the front is rotting away from the winter snow. It is a kindness to our meter people to have that box keeping snow off the meter in winter so it will be rebuilt. I'd like to get new house reel as well, box style maybe.

My gardens are looking sad, sad, sad. Mulch will hopefully be laid soon. I have some rearranging to do of plants as well and I'm going to get new planters for the porch soon, I hope. I have lots of pretty flowers in the summer but I don't have much left in the way of spring flowers. I'm going to try to plant a variety of bulbs in the fall.

I've got to get little boys to bed so that is all. I've been extra busy lately but I'm excited to share about all we have been up to.

I LOVE your little blue house! I would love to come help garden. (I am insanely jealous that you have a front garden to garden.)

Thanks, Kalee. We like it too. It just needs some tlc. I really enjoy working in the garden and I've had really pretty gardens in the past but I've found this to be a difficult season in my life for tending a garden with camping and other busyness. The garden on the right is in better shape than the one on the left - it's sort of neglected and sad. I also have gardens on the side of my house and in the back yard too. :)
