Be Still My Heart

I am so excited about our decision to stay in our home. I've not have a moment's regret or even second guessed the decision once. I have such peace with it. This summer we will be painting our little blue house. We are currently trying to pick out the perfect shade of blue - could we even consider painting it a different color? I think not.

Our bathroom remodel officially started today when Steve went in to prep the walls for the wainscoting. He took the toilet paper holder and the soap dish out. Those left big holes and he cut drywall to fill them. Tomorrow I'll wash the walls and ceiling and they will be scraped and filled in. There is cracked plaster and peeling paint - all of that has to be fixed first. I was happy as a clam to hear hammering today. Next week we will have a beautiful new bathroom - I can't wait to see it all put together. I still have to find a new shower curtain, a stainless steel trash can and a little antique drawer unit (which I suspect might take some time) but I'm so excited to have the construction - and destruction - underway.
